What are we doing? - We are producing a collection of audio recordings that invites listeners to explore the rich cultural and natural landscape of Kinjarling/Albany. Drawing on local voices, natural soundscapes and archival material, the work will offer a rich and evolving reflection on Kinjarling/Albany identities.

Who is this for? - You. This is a community-centred collaborative project. We see this as a meaningful opportunity to explore ‘what Albany is’ from a diverse range of perspectives.
How will the recordings be used? - The project producers will collate the available audio and create a location-responsive, app-based soundscape experience that invites audiences to explore Albany through immersive audio stories.
Who is making this? - Albany Is is initiated, produced and presented by FORM Building a State of Creativity in collaboration with Creative Producers Envelope Audio and Barking Wolf. Supported by Lotterywest, Albany Is will form part of the program of major cultural events for Albany 2026.
